Swapple Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
Swapple is a browser word puzzle game. This policy explains what the game stores, what is sent to the server, and how advertising may work when Google AdSense is enabled.
Information stored in your browser
Swapple uses local storage to remember game-related preferences and state, including played puzzle tracking, visual celebration state, and the display name you choose for leaderboard submissions. This information stays in your browser unless you submit a leaderboard score.
Leaderboard submissions
If you submit a leaderboard score, Swapple sends your display name, score, round, puzzle identifier, move count, elapsed time, and score breakdown to the leaderboard service. Public leaderboard rows show your display name, score, round, elapsed time, and submission date.
The leaderboard uses IP address and user-agent information for rate limiting and one-use submission tokens. This helps reduce automated or abusive score submissions.
Hosting and service providers
Swapple is hosted on Netlify. The temporary leaderboard is stored with Netlify Blobs and served through Netlify Functions. Netlify may process request information needed to host the site, operate serverless functions, secure the service, and provide logs.
Advertising
Swapple may use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also learn about opting out of some third-party vendors' personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
